You know those people in life who you leave their company just feeling encouraged? Like the world is a better place with them in it? Claire and Steve, y'all - nailing it. I left our meeting more than excited to help them tell the birth story of their first little babe.
Babies and their timing though, we've talked about this. They come when they're ready to come - early or late - and I am so, so thankful for that. BUT, sometimes that means I have to personally miss the big arrival moment if I'm at another birth. The biggest bummer ever. March was mayhem and while I do everything in my power to make it to each birth I take on, the cards are up in the air, as always. Lucky for me and my mamas, I have an incredible back-up gal, Jashley, who steps in and takes fantastic care of these families when I'm not able to be there.
This time, I was lucky enough to tag-team her out so we both got to experience the joy of celebrating Rawley on his birth day with the Jackson family. I know I talk frequently about mama's birth plans or ideas not exactly panning out and, as a photographer, I have my own set of punches to roll with regarding birth. Just like with any story though, it all plays out beautifully in the end and I'm thankful.
